Earning cashback on eligible card spend

Earning cashback means receiving a percentage of money back on eligible purchases made with your Zempler card.

You can earn up to £1,000 in cashback per calendar month on eligible card purchases.

Cashback rates vary by account type and for most (including Business Extra and Pro), follow a tiered structure. The more you spend, the higher the cashback rate will be (there are different rates).

If you have a Premier business account type, check your cashback rate(s) in Online Banking or the Zempler app.

How to find your cashback rates

To check what cashback rates you receive, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Online Banking or the Zempler app
  2. Tap on ‘Cashback this month’
  3. Go to ‘Your cashback rate’

If you earn tiered cashback on your Zempler card, the cashback rate you receive will depend on how much you’ve spent so far that month.

Business Extra & Business Premier – up to 0.5% cashback

0.1%

0.25%

0.5%

Here’s an example of how tiered cashback works for customers receiving up to 0.5% cashback:

John runs a small business and makes a few card purchases each month.

  • On 1 November, his first purchase of £500 earned £0.50 cashback at 0.1%
  • On 3 November, his purchase of £3,000 earned £3 cashback, also at 0.1%. Because this second purchase pushed his total eligible card spend above £1,000, he unlocks the 0.25% rate for his next card purchase.
  • On 15 November, John's third purchase of £2,000 earned £5 cashback at 0.25% and increased his monthly total beyond £5,000. This unlocked the 0.5% rate.
  • On 19 November, John's £2,000 purchase earned 0.5% cashback (£10). Any further eligible card purchases in November would continue to earn 0.5% cashback.
  • In December, John's first purchase gets 0.1% cashback, since cashback rates reset each month.

Business Pro - up to 1% cashback

0.25%

0.5%

1%

Here's an example of how tiered cashback works for customers receiving up to 1% cashback:

Jack runs a small business and makes a few card purchases each month.

  • On 1 November, his first purchase of £500 earned £1.25 cashback at 0.25%
  • On 3 November, his purchase of £3,000 earned £7.50 cashback, also at 0.25%. Because this second purchase pushed his total eligible card spend above £1,000, he unlocks the 0.5% rate for his next card purchase.
  • On 15 November, Jack's third purchase of £2,000 earned £10 cashback at 0.5% and increased his monthly total beyond £5,000. This unlocked the 1% rate.
  • On 19 November, Jack's £2,000 purchase earned 1% cashback (£20). Any further eligible card purchases in November would continue to earn 1% cashback.
  • In December, Jack's first purchase gets 0.25% cashback, since cashback rates reset each month.
