Basics

  • To send money internationally you’ll need to follow these instructions:

    • Log in to the Zempler Bank app.
    • Go to Pay > Make international payment.
    • Enter transfer details.
    • Check the quote and accept.
    • Enter recipient details.
    • Confirm Payment.
  • UK payments: You can only send to a UK bank account.

International payments: With International Payments, you can send US dollars to the United States and euros to countries in Europe. International accounts use different account details, such as IBAN (Europe) or account number and routing number (US ACH). The payee address is also required for payments to the United States.

  • You can only send USD to recipients in the United States. However, for EUR, you can send euros to non-Eurozone countries that are a part of SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area), like Switzerland. If the bank account is not EUR-denominated then it might not be reachable.

  • The delivery time for your international payments can differ depending on the currency and destination country.

When you make an international payment through our app, we’ll provide you with an estimated delivery time, although some transactions can take longer. Please wait at least two working days before querying the transaction receipt.

  • Our international payments are processed through Wise bank accounts. This means the payment description may sometimes display Wise as the sender with the receiving bank.

  • Although Zempler always sends the payment reference, some banks may not show the reference on the recipient's bank statement.

  • For now, you can enjoy sending US dollar and euro payments through the Zempler Bank app. We'll let you know when this feature becomes available in Online Banking.

  • Outbound international payments are initially only available to limited companies, sole traders, and charities. We will be rolling this service out to these customers gradually. You’ll only be able to see the international payments options once the service is available on your account.

  • Once you set up your international payment details, we’ll display the fees in the app. You’ll need to accept these fees to proceed with the payment. Make sure you have enough money in your account to cover both the amount you want to send and any transfer fees.

  • We will send an app notification when your transfer has been sent. Make sure you have payment alerts enabled on your device. You may also need to check your device settings to make sure you can receive alerts from the Zempler Bank app.

  • Due to exchange rates changing constantly throughout the day, you won’t be able to set up scheduled international payments. If you want to send a repeat international payment, you’ll need to set up a new payment and accept the quote to send it.

Where is my money?

  • To check the status of your outbound international payment in the Zempler Bank app, go to Pay > Manage international payments. You’ll find the status of all recent requests there.

  • This can vary depending on the currency and country you’re sending money to. When you make an international payment through the app, we'll give you the estimated delivery time, although some transactions can take longer. Please wait at least two working days before querying the transaction receipt.

  • If your international payment has failed, please try to send it again. If this issue continues, please call us on 0330 024 0924.

  • If your international payment has been returned to your account, please contact the recipient and check the account details that were used to make the transfer. They may need to discuss it with their bank before you can re-submit the payment.

Refunds/Cancellations

  • Once a payment request has been sent, we’re unable to cancel it. You’ll need to contact the recipient to get your money back. If the request has been sent to incorrect details or if you’re worried about a transfer, please contact our customer service team on 0330 024 0924. If you think you may have been a victim of fraud, here’s what to do.

  • Our team will refund the transfer as soon as we’re notified of the return from the beneficiary bank.

  • We don’t currently charge any refund fees. If you’re expecting a refund, you will receive the GBP amount that we receive from the beneficiary bank. Please note that the GBP amount refunded could be less than your original transfer if the recipient bank has taken any fees.

  • Any refunds for outbound international payments will be returned to the Zempler account from which the payment request was made.
