The Zempler Bank story so far
It started with a personal mission to make banking simpler for people being let down by the UK’s banking system
When our CEO and founder Rich Wagner landed in the UK, no high street bank would let him open an account. He’d not been in the country long enough, apparently. Something had to change. Zempler grew with a vision that banking shouldn’t get in the way of life, it should make it simpler. We follow that same vision just as doggedly today as Rich did 20 years ago.
We’ve made some great progress over the years, and turned our focus to underserved small businesses and start ups
We’re proud of our story. We introduced the UK’s first prepaid debit card and the first online business account. And our innovative Creditbuilder products have helped thousands of people and businesses build a credit history and boost their credit rating.
We know the job isn’t finished yet, and we have big plans for the future
In 2021, we were authorised as a bank. This has opened exciting new possibilities for us to help even more people. We’ve always invested in the things that matter. We don’t do gimmicks - we run Zempler economically sustainably and responsibly. We’re here to do banking right and support our customers for the long haul.
