Modern slavery statement

Zempler Bank (the “Company”) is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in its business activities. This policy outlines the Company’s position on modern slavery, in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

Activities such as IT procurement, e-waste disposal, sourcing of promotional merchandise and facilities management (such as cleaning and building maintenance), for example, all give rise to the risk of modern slavery. Criminals involved in modern slavery may use the products and services that financial services companies provide to facilitate criminal activities, for example booking flights to fly victims into the UK, as well as launder the proceeds of these activities.

Zempler Bank strictly prohibits the use of modern slavery and human trafficking in its operations and supply chain.

Zempler Bank is, and will continue to be, committed to implementing systems and controls aimed at ensuring that modern slavery does not take place anywhere within the Company or in any of its supply chains. Zempler Bank expects that its suppliers will also hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
